Base Prep Is the Job
- We excavate to depth, install and compact stone base, and slope the pad so water leaves the structure rather than pooling against it.
- Reinforcement is chosen for the use — wire or rebar depending on what is going to sit or drive on it — and control joints are cut on a spacing that tells the slab where to crack instead of letting it choose.
- Edges are finished clean, and the surface texture is matched to the use: broom finish where people walk and it gets icy, smoother finishes only where that makes sense.
What Homeowners Should Expect
- You get a written scope and price before we start: thickness, square footage, reinforcement, finish and what happens to the old concrete if there is any.
- Fresh concrete needs to be kept off. Foot traffic is generally next day and vehicles wait longer — we tell you the specific timeline for your pour and the weather it was poured in.
- Hairline surface cracking and slight color variation are normal in outdoor concrete. Structural failure is not, and we stand behind our work.

How thick should my patio or shed floor be?
Four inches over a compacted stone base covers most patios and walk-on slabs. Anything a vehicle, trailer or heavy equipment sits on gets poured thicker with heavier reinforcement.
Can you pour against my existing concrete?
Yes. We tie new work to existing slabs with an expansion joint so the two can move independently instead of cracking each other.
When can I use it?
Walk on it the next day in normal conditions. Furniture and heavier use wait longer, and cold-weather pours take more time. We give you the timeline for your specific pour.
